E & T Massage Therapies respect and protect your privacy. This notice sets out the different areas where user privacy is concerned and outlines the obligations and requirements of the users, the website at www.etmassagetherapies.co.uk, and us, the website owners. It also details how we use, store and protect any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us.
The information we collect
When you book an appointment, we collect personal details such as your name, email and telephone number. This is used to identify you and contact you about the appointments and services you've booked.
To provide a safe and effective massage treatment, we also need to collect information such as your medical background and lifestyle choices. This is only used to make sure your treatment is as safe and effective as possible.
When you buy a gift voucher, we collect personal details such as your name, email, recipient's name and possibly a postal address, used to identify you and provide the service requested.
Consent
When you provide us with your personal information in the course of booking an appointment, completing your consultation form or any pregnancy or postnatal update forms — all collected securely via Jotform — making a payment, or contacting us about our services, you are giving your consent to us collecting that information and using it for that specific reason.
We will not use your personal information for any secondary purpose, such as marketing, unless we have asked you directly for consent to do so.
For the purpose of legal protection, we are required to hold the personal information you have given us, and the treatment notes associated with it, for a minimum of seven years. This information is held securely through Jotform and our other service providers listed below.
Seven years after your last treatment, we will permanently delete all personal information we hold.
Whilst your information is retained, we will not access or process it in any way except if needed for legal protection or if required to do so by law.

Data handling & storage
Our appointment booking is handled through Acuity Scheduling, integrated via Squarespace.
Client consultation forms, Covid, pregnancy and postnatal update forms are collected securely via Jotform.
Payments are processed through Square and Stripe, linked via our Monzo business account. All providers meet PCI-DSS standards for handling card data, and we never see or store your full card details ourselves.
Our exercise prescription software is provided by Rehab My Patient.
In general, our third-party providers only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to perform the services they provide to us. Some of these providers have their own privacy policies, and we'd recommend reviewing those to understand how they handle your information. Some providers may be located outside the UK, in which case your information may become subject to the laws of that jurisdiction if you proceed with a transaction involving their services.
Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our Terms & Conditions.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised data about visitors to this site, to help us improve the visitor experience. Google Analytics records the website a visitor came from, general device/browser information, general location, and how they interacted with the site. We are bound by Google's Analytics Terms of Service. You can opt out of Google's advertising tracking cookie or use a browser plugin to opt out of Google Analytics entirely.

When you click links on our website, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.
Security
To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practice to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, altered or destroyed. Any card information provided is encrypted using SSL technology, and we follow PCI-DSS requirements alongside other generally accepted industry standards.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time — please review it periodically. If we make material changes, we will notify you here. If this business is acquired or merged with another, your information may be transferred to the new owners so they can continue to provide the services you've requested.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, please raise it with us first so we can seek a resolution. If you're still not satisfied, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
Legal basis for storing data
This information is collected in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Articles 6.1(b), 9.2(h) and 9.3.
